He began his career as a teacher assistant, intentionally choosing to work on the same schedule as his students to better support their academic and personal growth. It did not take long for John to find his place within the school community, where he earned the respect of both students and colleagues.

John is deeply committed to speaking life, encouragement, and positivity into his students while thoughtfully and firmly guiding them through real-world challenges. His passion for the development, empowerment, and long-term success of children is evident in his daily work.

Today, John Lloyd serves as a 4th-grade teacher, dedicated to guiding and shaping the leaders of tomorrow. His impact continues to strengthen our communities and reflects the core values of Building My Future.

Nicholas Farmer (Military Advisor)

Nicholas is a dedicated leader with over 15 years of military service, bringing discipline, strategic planning, and operational excellence to every role he serves. Throughout his military career, he developed valuable trade skills and technical expertise that continue to inform his leadership and commitment to workforce readiness.

For more than a decade, Nicholas has worked closely with inner-city youth, equipping them with essential life skills while guiding them toward meaningful post-secondary education, skilled trades, and career pathways. His ability to bridge structured military leadership with compassionate community engagement allows him to build trust, inspire confidence, and create measurable impact.

As an administrator with Building My Future, Nicholas is committed to advancing the organization’s mission through strong organizational leadership, accountability, and youth-centered advocacy—ensuring young people are prepared for sustainable careers and long-term success.
